Software Engineer – Embedded, Communications & Networking

Disruptive Tech is looking for several software and systems engineers.  These positions will support the development, testing and fielding of state-of-the-art communications, networking and computational systems. Because of the controls placed upon these projects, U.S. Citizenship is a requirement.  These positions required a government administered background investigation and polygraph test for a security clearance in order to access program information. 

 

These positions involves software design, analysis, and development of embedded networking and communications systems for satellite and terrestrial applications.  In addition to software development, duties include troubleshooting, testing, as well as significant integration and deployment efforts. Please see the position requirements below for a list of applicable skills.

 

These positions require:

 

  • A solid background as a software or systems engineer working with the development of computer/communications/networking systems and components including switches, routers, networking protocols, wireless (cellular) protocols, and/or satellite control systems.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in engineering, a related field, or equivalent work experience
  • Requires US Citizenship due to program security requirements
  • Experience with hands-on development, testing and deployment of systems

 

Any of the following skills are considers pluses:

 

  • Experience with full lifecycle development of communications or networking systems and components.
  • Experience with embedded devices, operating systems and drivers, low level communications and networking protocols.
  • Experience with testing and debugging complex communications and networking systems and components.
  • A CISSP certification or similar network security or information assurance training.
  • Experience with network penetration testing, ethical hacking and similar skills.
  • An active or recently active security clearance (Top Secret) with a polygraph.

Systems Engineer – Satellite Payloads 

 

Disruptive Technology Associates, Ltd. is looking to grow our team of highly skilled technical people with the addition of Systems Engineer.  This position will support the development, testing and fielding of state-of-the-art space systems.  Due to customer requirements, US citizenship is required. This position also requires the ability to undergo an investigation for a security clearance (Top Secret) including a polygraph test. A degree in Electrical Engineering, physics or a related field is preferred.

 

The Systems Engineer will analyze, design, develop and test space systems to ensure the integration of software, hardware, reliability, maintainability, safety, security and payload system requirements. In addition, the successful candidate will have demonstrated experience in the development of concept of operations, system architecture trade studies and selection, cost/benefit and risk/opportunity analyses and creation of system-level specifications.

 

This position requires:

 

  • Hands on experience with the design and building of space vehicle payload systems
  • Familiarity with systems engineering processes including the generation of technical engineering products using appropriate government standards, processes, procedures, and tools

 

The any of the following are considered pluses:

 

  • Experience with Signals Intelligence (SIGINT) collection
  • Understanding of environmental effects on spacecraft hardware/payload systems
  • Hands-on execution of payload system performance testing

Satellite Test Engineer 

 

Disruptive Technology Associates, Ltd. is looking to grow our team of highly skilled technical people with the addition of a Satellite Test Engineer with hands-on experience with spacecraft payloads (Flight Hardware).  This position will support the development, testing and fielding of state-of-the-art communications systems.  Due to customer requirements, US citizenship is required. This position also requires the ability to undergo an investigation for a security clearance including a polygraph test. A degree in Electrical Engineering, physics or a related field is preferred.

 

This position will primarily perform hardware integration and test of highly complex, highly-reliable spaceflight payload electronics. The Satellite Test Engineer will also perform alignment, testing, problem troubleshooting, data analysis, and technical evaluation of Digital and RF modules, along with systems level testing. 

 

This position requires:

 

Hands-on experience testing satellite systems in an R&D environment

 

Experience with any of the following are considered pluses:

 

  • Hands on experience with testing satellite hardware systems
  • Development of test plans, procedures and reports including planning activities, schedules and equipment needs
  • Hands-on execution of hardware performance testing
  • Familiarity with schematics and wiring diagrams
  • Development and operation of special test equipment (STE)
  • Technical task leadership for small teams or projects
  • Experience with analyzing and reviewing test data
  • Experience with numerical data analysis tools to interpret test results
  • Formal and informal defect resolution processes
  • Creation of software tools for test data analysis (LINUX/UNIX based)
  • Documenting test results, create reports and present test data to peers, managers and customers
  • Hands on experience with test equipment including network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, and signal generators
  • Experience with IT government security accreditations and certification DCID 6/3, ICD 503, NISPOM, NIST, DIACAP, & RMF

ASIC/FPGA Engineer 

 

Disruptive Technology Associates, Ltd. is looking to grow our team of highly skilled technical people with the addition of an ASIC/FPGA Engineer with hands-on experience with spacecraft hardware.  This position will support the development, testing and fielding of state-of-the-art communications systems.  Due to customer requirements, US citizenship is required. The ASIC/FPGA Engineer is responsible for all aspects of the design, implementation and test of functionality for spacecraft applications including system requirements, architecture, development, requirements validation and verification.

 

This position requires:

 

  • Hands on experience with the design and development of FPGA and ASIC implementation for satellite communications systems application

 

Experience with any of the following are considered pluses:

 

  • Experience with Global Positioning System (GPS) signal processing
  • Experience with Verilog, SystemVerilog, Mentor QuestaSim, Precision, & 0-in CDC, Xilinx ISE / Vivado, Synopsis Design Compiler / ICC, and Primetime tools
  • Experience with Xilinx FPGAs
  • Experience with design using CMOS technologies of less than 45mn
  • Design of high reliability (hi-rel) satellite hardware
  • Experience with architecture and requirements development, formal design, testing and related analysis

A degree in Electrical Engineering, physics or a related field is preferred.

 

The DSP Systems Engineer is responsible for all aspects of the design, implementation and test of digital signal processing functionality for spacecraft applications including system requirements, architecture, algorithm development, hardware/software partitioning, requirements validation and verification.

 

This position requires:

 

  • Hands on experience with systems engineering, design, development and testing of Digital Signal Processing (DSP) Systems for spacecraft applications

 

Experience with any of the following are considered pluses:

 

  • Creating overall signal processing architecture
  • DSP algorithm development
  • Hardware/software design trade-offs
  • Experience with fixed-point hardware implementations

Satellite Power Systems Design Engineer 

 

Disruptive Technology Associates, Ltd. is looking to grow our team of highly skilled technical people with the addition of a Satellite Power Systems Design Engineer with hands-on experience with spacecraft (flight) hardware.  This position will support the development, testing and fielding of state-of-the-art satellite systems.  Due to customer requirements, US citizenship is required. This position also requires the ability to undergo an investigation for a security clearance (Top Secret) including a polygraph test. A degree in Electrical Engineering, physics or a related field is preferred.

 

The Satellite Power Systems Design Engineer is responsible for all aspects of the design and test of DC to DC converters for spacecraft applications including requirements development, module specification, concept design, block diagram, schematic, PWB layout, performance modeling and simulation, stress analysis, worst case analysis, test procedure, and first article test.

 

This position requires:

 

  • Hands on experience with design and test of power converters (DC to DC) for spacecraft applications

 

The following attributes are considered pluses:

 

  • Understanding of environmental effects on spacecraft hardware
  • PCB/PWB (Board-level) layout and design
  • Space flight hardware design experience
  • Analog simulation and modeling with Mentor Graphics or Cadence

Disruptive Technology Associates, Ltd. is looking to grow our team of highly skilled people with the addition of a part-time Software Engineering intern. This position will support the development, testing and fielding of state-of-the-art communications and computational systems. Because of the export controls placed upon these projects, U.S. Citizenship is a requirement.

 

The position involves software development of state of the art software related to text and speech processing.  Please see the position requirements below for a list of applicable skills.

 

This position requires:

 

  • A solid educational background in software engineering.
  • Progress towards a Bachelor’s degree in software engineering with the completion of at least 2 years of a 4 year degree program (at or approximately a Junior in class standing). 
  • Requires US Citizenship or permanent residency for export control reasons
